  • Top beaches of the Philippines

    Coco Loco Island, Roxas, Palawan

I have my own list of which I think are the beautiful beaches in the Philippines. I have always been a nature lover and I think I was born with a mole under my foot. The first beach I went to is in El Nido, Palawan. I felt in love with the place and made me realize how wonderful the Philippines is. Unfortunately, I’ve lost my pictures of it. I promised myself that I will return to that place and [...]

  • Island hopping in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia

    Pulau Manukan

We woke up early to do island hopping in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. It is a marine park comprises of Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug. All these islands are just 10-15 minutes boat ride from Jesselton Point. There are several boat companies which ferry passengers to the islands and between islands. It costs RM23 (RM25 for Sulug Island) for a round-trip ticket to one island and an extra RM10 per additional island. You basically [...]

  • Angkor Thom Bayon, Angkor Wat : Cambodia

One of the face towers in Bayon

Angkor Thom is the largest of all the Khmer cities, founded by Jayavarman VII. During our first visit in Siem Reap, our tour guide recommended to visit Angkor Thom Bayon in the morning and other mini temples, so we’ll have the whole afternoon visiting Angkor Wat. But before you can enter the temples, a pass is required and they are very strict about this. They don’t allow tourists to enter the temples without the pass. So here is my pass [...]

  • Angkor Wat : Cambodia

    Angkor Wat Temple

I’ve been longing to visit Angkor Wat for years. I’ve always been amazed on how an early civilization could have created such a kingdom. Angkor Wat means ‘city pagoda’, it is not only the sublimest of all Khmer temples but also a city in its own right. The outer limits of Angkor Wat are set by its broad moat, built with laterite and sandstone. The total area is almost 200 hectares, the largest temple at Angkor. Upon nearing Angkor Wat, [...]

  • Linaw Beach Resort, Panglao Island Bohol

front view of Linaw Beach Resort

I booked Linaw Beach Resort online. I was happy that somebody immediately replied to my email and attended to some of my questions. I asked for the resort to pick up us after lunch. After having lunch in Payag Restaurant, Jo’s Chicken Inato, I texted my contact person in Linaw to pick up us. But we waited for almost an hour and no van is arriving! We were so frustrated with this kind of customer service. We then decided to [...]

Bumming Around

Posted by abib On March - 31 - 2012 0 Comment

My official day as a bummer started when I resigned from work last Mar. 15, 2012. I’ve worked for a year on a graveyard shift (without night diff though ) and the past two weeks had been an adjustment period for me transitioning from night shift to normal day shift. I’ve worked non-stop since I was in college and didn’t have the luxury of giving myself a break between jobs. Giving myself a 2-month vacation is overwhelming and a bit [...]

Posted by abib On March - 10 - 2012 0 Comment

I’ve made an 11:30AM appointment for a US Tourist Visa interview on Feb. 24, 2012. I came to the gate at exactly 15 minutes before my schedule! Whew! I won’t suggest doing this as this scared the hell out of me and thought I might not make it. It stressed me the whole morning. LOL. I waited for almost 2 hours and was interviewed only for 5 minutes. Luckily, I made the cut! I was granted 10-yr multiple entry visa [...]

Holiday in Europe – a Tour For Life

Posted by abib On September - 23 - 2011 2 Comments

Holidaying in Europe always seems to require a whole lot of tiresome planning and budgeting. But what if there were short week-long tours that were supervised by expert travel and tourism consultants across the world? Would that be tiring? Perhaps not. Keeping in mind the entire idea of ‘vacation’ (which means spending quality time with family and friends, relaxing on the sea beach or enjoying the beauty of the Alps from a view point), special offers are taking the rounds [...]
